On July 27th, 2020, I wrote one of the first articles to be published on this website, Welcome to Film Cred. A lot of what I said there was based on a Twitter DM conversation I had with Cody Corrall about a month before, where we chatted about this idea I had for a film website.

The fact that me rambling in a DM led to a group of people all rambling in a DM which led to a Slack (and then Discord) of over 100 people all working on this website is just so cool to me. Within a few months, we were able to launch a Patreon and start paying for everything we publish on the website.
For our first anniversary, we have a surprise. Thanks to our amazing Art Director, Rae Sumlin, we now have Film Cred merch! This is something we’ve been working on for awhile, and I am so happy to finally offer it. Check out our shop!

Rather than be too congratulatory, I want to say thank you to everyone who has taken time to keep up with us, follow us, pitch to us, and gave us tips and advice. A lot of things clicked together perfectly to make Film Cred what it is now and I appreciate everyone who has put in work to help me create this website and community. My promise is that with every decision we make I will keep our original purpose in mind and make sure that we will continue to be a resource for writers, first and foremost.
See ya in another year.
